The Artistry in Music Scholarship Foundation

About the Artistry in Music Scholarship Foundation

...a financial aid institution offering music scholarships to elementary and high school students residing in the northwest suburban area who lack the financial resources to fully develop their musical skills.
The Artistry in Music Scholarship Foundation was established to assure that youngsters in need will not be denied the opportunity to study music; and that those with exceptional talent will be given every opportunity to continue their studies.
Starting in November of 1999, six volunteers have met regularly to develop a program to fulfill the needs of students in the northwest suburban area. The Artistry in Music Scholarship Foundation was incorporated in May of 2000.
The Foundation's mission is to raise tuition funds for students whose financial resources are limited. There are children in the northwest suburban area interested in learning to play a musical instrument, but because of financial constraints, are unable to take lessons. This program will help identify those children and offer them the opportunity.
We offer music scholarships to elementary and high school students to attend the Schaumburg Academy of Music. Applications are available from the Foundation. A scholarship committee reviews application for financial aid. Clients served by our program are elementary and high school students in the northwest suburbs of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Roselle, Elgin, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, and Streamwood.
An Artistry in Music Scholarship is awarded for a weekly lesson one half hour in length, for a period of six months for a student who has demonstrated exceptional talent in a school ensemble, and who requires specialized private lessons beyond his or her means to fully develop an innate talent.Recipients of scholarships are expected to demonstrate commitment to their musical studies by consistent effort and regular attendance.Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on this commitment. The program offers scholarships to twenty to forty children. Scholarship candidates do not apply directly to the Academy for a Scholarship, but are recommended by their ensemble director. The tuition value of each scholarship is $400.
